“Well, I don’t know what will happen now. We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn’t matter with me now. Because I’ve been to the mountaintop. And I don’t mind. Like any man, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people will get to the promised land. And I’m happy, tonight. I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.”

I’ve put off reading the fifth of the Mortal Instruments series. It has been months since I started it. What happens to Jace didn’t appeal to me. But for some reasons, I picked up where I stopped and finally finished it.
Here are some lines from the characters which will somehow connect to the real world.
“Love isn’t moral or immoral,” said Clary. “It just is.” (to Simon)
“Of course he loves me. I’m his sister.” “Blood isn’t love,” -Magnus to Izzy
“Some things,” said Jocelyn at her elbow, “are not as simple as they first appear.”
“Ignis aurum probat,”
“It means ‘Fire tests gold.’” “Right,” said Jocelyn. “They don’t just mean forges and metalwork. They mean that adversity tests one’s strength of character. In difficult times, in dark times, some people shine.” (to Izzy)
“I hope you understand that when you make promises in other people’s names, it falls upon your head to make sure they follow through.” (Praetor Lupus to Maia)
"You can’t stop her. No one can stop her. She is a great deal like her mother.” -Magnus to Jocelyn
“Isn’t there anything they can do?” asked Clary
“To raise a whole city? Or hold back the ocean? Not much,” Jace
He grinned. “I was trying to remember all the deadly sins the other day,” he said. “Greed, envy, gluttony, irony, pedantry…” “I’m pretty sure irony isn’t a deadly sin.” “I’m pretty sure it is.” “Lust,” she said. “Lust is a deadly sin.” “And spanking.” “I think that falls under lust.” “I think it should have its own category,” said Jace. “Greed, envy, gluttony, irony, pedantry, lust, and spanking.”
“You never slip.” He touched her face. “I may not slip,” he said, “but I fall.”
“Traitors,” said Clary, dropping her hand. Sebastian’s dark eyes flashed. “Or fighters for freedom. History gets written by the winners, little sis.”
“Weighed in the balance and found wanting?” -Sebastian to Melior
"I don’t think she doesn’t believe she can die. I think, just like you always did, she believes there are things worth dying for.” -Luke to Jocelyn
“I don’t belong to you. I belong to me.” -Clary to Sebastian
He had almost lost his soul, and the scar would serve to remind him of the fragility of will, and the difficulty of goodness. And of darker things. Of what lay ahead, and what he could not allow to happen. (Thoughts of Jace)
Forever does not make loss forgettable, only bearable.

A man doesn’t have to agree with his government to be a patriot, does he? It takes a true patriot to dissent, to say he loves his country more than he cares for his own place in the social order.
Valentine to Jace (City of Bones)
One thing you’ll learn as you get older, Simon, is that when people tell you something unpleasant about themselves, it’s usually true.
- Samuel / Hodge ( City of Glass )
Life is a game with many rules but no referee. One learns how to play it more by watching it than by consulting any book, including the holy book. Small wonder, then, that so many play dirty, that so few win, that so many lose.Joseph Brodsky #life
With Gilas’ win over the Republic of Korea last night in the semifinal match of the FIBA Asia championships, the entire Philippines shed tears of joy. Every single Filipino seemed so proud to be Pinoy. Twitter flooded with people who are just so happy with the #GilasPilipinas’ victory. Rico Blanco, aside from being a genius in music is one big basketball fan. He tweeted a Rivermaya song - Alab ng puso. I don’t know why I never knew this song! It took a national team qualifying to the fiba world cup for me to discover the song!
Here’s the lyrics!
Alab Ng Puso
Mabibilangan ka ngunit babangon kang muli
Wala na raw pag-asang daigdig mong tagilid
Padadala ka ba sa agos o hindi?
Patay Na Kung Patay
Lahat ibibigay dahil wala na ‘tong atrasan
Pagitingan ng puso ang labanan
Lumuha ka kung hindi mo mapigilan ang tuwa
Matagal kang naghintay kaibigan
Paabutin mo sa langit ang tamis ng sandaling ibinigay
Alab ng puso, kailanma’y hindi sumukoTagumpay
Give Iran a good fight #GilasPilipinas! Good morning #life! #LabanPilipinas #fibaworldcup
Paabutin mo sa langit ang tamis ng sandaling ibinigay
Tagumpay #GilasPilipinas #LabanPilipinas #fibaworldcup

Decide everyday to refuse failure. Decide to not be afraid of the unseen future. Refuse to accept the dark tomorrow that hinders you to try and really live a beautiful life. Death is an inevitable destination for you and me. But life is your choice. My choice. There are infinite options ahead of us.
